The selections on this 2008 release make for an enjoyable compilation of modern day country stars covering songs from such Disney films as Bambi II, Home On The Range, Fox And The Hound 2, Dumbo and The Little Mermaid (to name a few). Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter Miley Cyrus of Hannah Montana fame introduce this playful collection with an uplifting version of "Ready, Set, Don't Go" before Rascal Flatts offer up a remixed version of Tom Cochrane's 1991 hit "Life Is A Highway" from the automotive animation, Cars. Other highlights include Faith Hill singing mermaid Ariel's "Part of Your World" and Josh Gracin turning "When I See An Elephant Fly" from Dumbo into a retro, 1940s inspired, old-timey sounding tune, resulting in something that comes across like a bygone transmission piping out the speakers of an old wood cabinet radio. Billy Ray Cyrus bookends Country Sings Disney with "Real Gone," another hit from the movie Cars that rocks like a cross between a John Mellencamp number and Cyrus' 1992 smash "Achy Breaky Heart."
