[Edit]Doom metal has always been known to be one of the sludgier and slower paced hard rock forms. But on the 2009 debut by Culted, Below the Thunders of the Upper Deep, doom metal is taken to a whole other sluggish level. Armed with excruciating riffs and vocals sounding like they were recorded in a metal trashcan, Below the Thunders of the Upper Deep would certainly provide a fitting soundtrack for a post-apocalyptic landscape of ruin. All six tracks that comprise the album are of the same sonic variety ("Tyrant Cold," "Place of Skulls," etc.), so take your pick — and then prepare for the hammer of doom to drop.
