Details
[Edit]Aside from the junkyard rummage of the introductory "Scrapma" and the solemn tones of the closing "Brown Study," the debut album from Chichester, England's Cursor Miner is one of the less-deviant records to have seen release on Lo Recordings. This is contrary electronic pop which conjures Gary Numan, Molly Ringwald, and Metal Mickey for its cast of scenes, ranging from the carefree rock of "Never Been Seen" to the squeaking rubber duck which taunts the cybernetic "Bodily Functions," through the Madness inflection of "Like DNA" and an eventual return to Numan again in "U Want to Want" and the wonderfully titled "Battery Powered Joy." The hits pop from the speakers in a relentless work that registers at the bubonic level of infectiousness. Essential electro.
