[Edit]British band Dark Captain Light Captain follow their debut single, Jealous Enemies/Mid-Session Interval, and preface their upcoming debut album, Miracle Kicker, with Circles EP, a four-song disc that continues their folkish, becalmed sound. Group leaders Dan Carney and Neil Kleiner seem to have spent some time listening to Syd Barrett and Nick Drake records, and they have come up with some dreamy music based on delicately fingerpicked acoustic guitar riffs and high-pitched vocals, with percussion elements filling out the arrangements. The effect is elegant and unruffled, attractive in a detached way.
