Details
[Edit]Not to be confused with a like-named CCM folk-pop act from the mid-'90s, Days Like These are an emo-tinged indie rock outfit not far removed from the chart-bound likes of Jimmy Eat World or even Phantom Planet. Not ones for Dischord Records-style screaming, the six-piece band from Philadelphia's New Jersey 'burbs fill their debut album with forceful, anthemic choruses and typically angst-ridden lyrics that diminutive lead singer Angel Santiago delivers in the standard emo whine. Unlike many similar bands, however, Days Like These maintain a certain level of positivism and hopefulness in their outlook, giving Charity. Burns. Green. a much less sulky feel than one might expect. Days Like These are a little on the generic side, but the best parts of this album, like the bass-driven rocker "Threefold," show enough promise to keep from dismissing the band entirely.
