Details
[Edit]The more popular that Deadmau5 became (MTV picked him to DJ its 2010 VMAs shortly after this album's release), the more intense and refined his sound got. Following on the heels of Random Album Title, which contained the indelible Kaskade collaboration "I Remember," For Lack of a Better Name continued the Toronto producer's ascension to EDM's highest ranks. Featuring vocals from Rob Swift, "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" remains one of Deadmau5's most ominous tracks, its processed organs a staple of his live sets. "Hi Friend" shows off his playful side, but the bangers "Soma" and "Strobe" are the highlights here: the former is fathoms-deep tech-house, while the latter features the kind of ping-ponging arpeggio wizardry that makes this guy the champ.
