[Edit]Duo recordings have a special conversational feel as ideas are tossed back and forth or celebrated in unison. Both hailing from the Twin Cities, guitarist Magraw and drummer Gravatt work their way through a set of bluesy jams not at all like The White Stripes or The Black Keys—this is due to the exploratory nature of Magraw’s playing and lighter touch of Gravatt (who spent time in Weather Report), plus there are no vocals. Some stuff here sounds a little too offhanded, but the swirling “Sharrock” and the slow, bluesy “Sleeping Diva” don’t have a note out of place.
