The Kings of ‘80s heavy metal release their first-ever live album and it’s packed with just about every song that made them a household name. Def Lep were known as an impeccable studio band who labored for months to perfect each track. Yet this live album proves the band can reproduce it on stage. Songs from High ‘n’ Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria, Adrenalize and Songs From the Sparkle Lounge combine for a magical force. “Bringing On the Heartbreak” proves everyone in the audience knows the song from beginning to end. David Essex’s spooky tune “Rock On” retains its Def Lep flavor. Singer Joe Elliot brings his bloodcurdling howl for “Foolin’,” “Too Late for Love,” “Rock of Ages” and “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” The album finishes with three new studio tracks. “Kings of the World” is a powerful, dynamic tune centered at the piano before building to its climax. “It’s All About Believin’” features more of the classic Def Lep sound. Great songs and performances throughout.
