Details
[Edit]Fairly generic Southern California hardcore punk, the Deviates are not at all dissimilar from the scores of bands who play exceptionally tight, clean, melodic, super-fast, harmonized music — NOFX, Pennywise, and others. The arrangements, though carefully hewn and drawn tight to a fault, are out of a prescribed methodology. It does not help that Brian's vocals are embarrassingly similar to the Offspring's Dexter Holland, another bland, dumbed-down Southern California hardcore band. Even though fast, it's not energetic. No fury, no power. One supposes, however, that this is perfect soundtrack music for skateboarding, BMX, and snowboard videos.
