[Edit]Dexter Freebish return from the edge of modern rock stardom with Tripped Into Devine. Though they're no longer on Capitol, Devine does still sound like a major-label album, grinning with studio sheen from end to end. Single "Prozack (Be Like Me)" isn't as strong as their 2000 breakthrough, "Leaving Town," but it's a solid opener for the album, which really plays up frontman Kyle's vocal similarity to Bono. Dexter themselves run amicably through a set of slick adult alternative pop — it's not very memorable, but it's entirely capable and mildly entertaining. Fans of Fuel, Verve Pipe, and Nine Days should find enough to like here.
