[Edit]Diplo somehow found time to bust this party-friendly six-pack while working on publishing a book, producing Usher’s chart-topping “Climax,” and mixing a Major Lazer single. And even while he’s got a grip of guest vocalists sharing the mic, there’s no mistaking that Diplo is the host of his Express Yourself festivities. New Orleans MC Nicky Da B leads off the opening title track with some of his signature ping-pong bounce. It nearly upstages Diplo’s handclap-heavy mix, where rapid-fire beats blast under bubbly analog chirps. Datsik & Sabi put sass into “Barely Standing,” a deep dubstep cut percolating with what sounds like vintage Atari videogame samples and a vision-blurring bass. Flinch & My Name Is Kay toughen up “No Problem,” a fluttering jam with laser-blast effects going off under intimidating vocals and a Miami-flavored foundation. Diplo employs tons of organic-sounding percussion throughout “Move Around,” nearly burying Elephant Man’s toasting in this hyper dancehall standout. “Set It Off (feat. Lazerdisk Party Sex)” closes with pitched-up vocals squeaking over Peter Gabriel samples and early-‘90s house beats.
