This noise improvisation group from Japan fit into the post-avant garde mode in the explored by the like of Borbetomagus, AMM, Voice Crack, and Morphogenesis. Working with saxophone, treated string instruments, and samplers, the group delve into the chaos of noise while maintaining an ear for the fine balance of delicacy in such a stormy zone. In this avant-garde noise music, sonic texture holds precedent over musical virtuosity. In the network of heavy drones and distortion, the instrument's roles become meaningless — as each part contributes to the soundscape and is engulfed by a wave of noise. Dislocation bare similarities in approach to the Incapacitants and Merzbow, yet a more cautious interaction in their noise sculpting puts them more in the improvisation world than the all out noise genre. This album is their '90s debut which was followed by a LP-only release on the Fusetron label, which is an equally impressive affair. The striking factor that separates them from other noise groups is that their recordings are produced in extraordinary high fidelity.
