[Edit]

A mysterious compilation assembled by the equally obscure DJ Funky, Smoking While We Drive features a pair of legitimate superstars; Snoop Dogg on the excellent title track and Too $hort on three typically brilliant subsequent numbers, though the rest of the artists repping here range from names you might know (Atlanta producer Shawty Redd, ex No Limit soldier Fiend), to completely random cats like Slick B, Gino, KB, and Million. As to be expected, the better-known artists generally drop the better tunes, but some of the more anonymous acts still bring heat to the table. Decatur Black comes through with the simple but catchy "My Whole Life I Been Thuggin'," Doja Smoke's "I Get It Off" flaunts some really nice freaky synth squiggles, and the ultra-smooth "Sum Good" by Manish Man is arguably the best song on here – propelled by a fantastically funky bassline.
