[Edit]A longtime DJ/producer/graf artist from Queens, DJ JS-1 has been getting busy since the late '80s, collaborating with a countless emcees from coast to coast. A member of the legendary Rock Steady Crew, he has dropped a gang of singles and break records, plus several full-length albums, including Ground Original, Audio Technician, and Claimstake. He's toured the world many times over, worked extensively with beatbox specialist Rahzel, and also fills in for DJ Premier on Preem's radio show "Live from HeadQCourterz." On No Sellout, he enlists a dream team of top-shelf emcees to go off over his devastatingly funky, sample-saturated beats. Golden-era heroes Craig G, Prince Po, AG, Large Pro, KRS-One, Pharoahe Monch, CL Smooth, OC, and Sadat X all get loose, as do younger indie-rap royalty like Aesop Rock, Sean P, Vast Aire, Termanology, and Vinnie Paz, among many others. A rare record you can just let ride from start to finish, this is another sure-shot winner from JS-1.
