[Edit]

A longtime fixture in the industry, KaySlay has put in decades of work as a leading New York DJ, mixtape maestro, and lyrical beef instigator. On this, his third official album, he continues to do what he does best, bringing together some of the biggest names in hip-hop for this extensive, star-studded project. Featuring dozens of today's top MCs and producers, More Than Just a DJ makes up in variety what it lacks in cohesiveness, compiling 20 tracks loaded with flamboyant trash talking atop club-ready beats. With one exception (the Bay-centric "Street Credibility"), nearly all of the artists here rep for either the East or the South, though veterans and newer acts are both well represented. Standout selections include "See The Light" with AZ, Ghostface, and Raekwon, "Layed Out" with Bun B and Twista, and "Bad Girls" featuring femme fatales Jacki-O and Remy Ma. Far from a classic, but well worth a listen, it sports production from Alchemist, DJ Green Lantern, and Fizzy Womack, among many others.
