Details
[Edit]Just the latest in a line of excellent turntablists making their album debut on Bomb Hip-Hop, DJ T-Rock is a bit more old-school than DJ Faust, and much more focused on keeping things going than creating the hip-hop equivalent of musique concrète. He keeps the beats steady for the most part, and spends much of his time scratching in vocal samples lifted from old-school R&B, educational records, and all sorts of used-bin rejects. It's not quite as energetic and propulsive as brilliant turntablist full-lengths by Cut Chemist (Live at Future Primitive Sound Session) and Mix Master Mike (Anti-Theft Device), but Who's Your Daddy makes for an hour of fun and funk for hip-hop fans of all ages.
