Details
[Edit]The title of this record is that of the three brothers that made it. They are part of a new generation of griots: roving singer/teachers employed for entertainment and edification in West Africa. Djembé drummer Ass found Europe, especially Spain, a fertile ground for his percussion talents. He appears on the recordings of Hijas del Sol, Rasha, and others employing the lively djembé sound out of Spain. Now with his brothers, he promotes his own music and message. The fun "Que Comemos? (What's for Lunch?)" is a call-and-response song celebrating touring on the Iberian road. "Mandoute (Honesty)" is a soulful West African folk ballad. It gets to the foundation of the griot role; it teaches the universal principle of always telling the truth.
