Details
[Edit]Dorothy Moore sounds more Southern than she ever has on this late-career Malaco Records CD. The singer, who ascended the charts with "Misty Blue" way back when, now has a voice that has aged, husky and more than capable of delivering three-hearts-in-a-tangle sagas and mistreated woman dramas. Only the horns and backing singers (both splendid) keep one from classifying the ballads as deep soul; lovers of that style will find much to like with More Moore. Standouts include "Why Is Leaving You So Hard to Do," "Lie to Me," and "Stop What You're Doing to Me." It's shameful this type of music is absent on mainstream radio.
