Details
[Edit]The Dragster project centers around Australian singer/songwriter Deborah Cavallaro, who manages, on the band's self-titled album, to get beyond the jangly Australian pop conventions she's obviously inclined toward, and move into solid, ringing indie pop and rock that's vaguely reminiscent of some of Jenny Toomey's work. Don't make too many stylistic conclusions based on the presence of former Sleater-Kinney member Laura MacFarlane — Dragster stands firmly around the point where American indie rock meets Australian pop, and does a fairly good job of covering this territory.
