[Edit]Scottish industrial-goth band the Dream Disciples released the Sub.Atomic EP in 1997 as a stop-gap before releasing their third studio album. It's typical of such attempts, including as it does a couple of remixes, an odd cover version, and a somewhat confusing short track.
Musically, Sub.Atomic differs little from the standard Dream Disciples formula of harsh guitars over techno beats. There are a couple of standout moments ("Delirium" and the mix of "Care of the Devil"), where the band's energy and passion cover up the holes in the material. Unfortunately, tracks like "Stigmartyr" take far too long to get going and leave the listener reaching for the Skip button. There's nothing here that hasn't been done better by bands like Ministry and Prong, but there's enough good material to justify delving deeper into the band's back catalog.
