Odudus

Oduduá is an exciting world music release with imaginative tone colors and solid rhythmic underpinnings which provide a mystical element resulting in often trance-like effects. Tucci takes exotic melodies of Brazilian origin and infuses them with a rhythm-based earth-connectedness and spherical tonalities which illuminate various traditional elements while communicating cross-culturally far beyond today's "fashionable" world music ingredients. Dudu Tucci is a percussionist who is well-known through dance and theatre productions in Brazil and Germany, and there is a distinct spiritual/mystic side to his music which may be an acquired taste for some listeners. The electronic sounds and voices are provided by keyboardist Achim Geiseler who also serves as producer and arranger, bringing a skewed influence to the music which take the listener through tropical forests, fast-paced urban sequences and flute-laden meditations which amalgamate into one vast global musical language. ~ Backroads Music/Heartbeats, Rovi
