Details
[Edit]The second of two CDs taken from a pair of solo piano sessions (and greatly expanding upon the original LP that came out), this set features the great pianist Earl Hines near the peak of his powers, stretching out on a variety of stimulating standards including "Who's Sorry Now," "I Never Knew," "Stompin' at the Savoy" and "Mack the Knife." Every jazz collection should have at least a few examples of Hines's stimulating and exciting piano; this CD and Tour de Force are perfect examples of his virtuosic powers.
