Details
[Edit]Eileen Ivers, on her debut album, Eileen Ivers, shows remarkable inventiveness while still standing on the firm ground of traditional Irish music. From folk to rock and Ireland to Africa, Ivers spices up contemporary, traditional and original tunes with guitar, saxophone, zither, viola da gumba and hammond organ. This is serious fun. The beautiful tune "Nagh Seola" becomes a jazz ballad duet. On "Pachelbel's Frolics," Ivers deconstructs this classical piece into a driving hoedown. A more talented, adventurous musician on the Irish music scene would be hard to find.
