German industrial collective Einstürzende Neubauten was riding a strong creative wave at the time of this concert recording, Live at Rockpalast 1990. The blistering set of 16 tracks (including a lengthy prologue introduction) is marked by drum machine meshing with metal percussion, industrial sound samples, and sludgy guitars. The mix of brutality and poignancy represents the band in one of its prime phases, with bandleader Blixa Bargeld on fire for tracks like "Sand" and "Haus der Lüge."
