Endpoint's Catharsis attempts to be just that: an affirmative emotional release, addressing problems both societal and individual. "Days After" and "The Last Song," the former addressing rape and the latter a broken relationship, are the album's watermarks. Both songs show Endpoint's thematic and musical depth and, thus, hardcore's potential in the process. Forerunners of Louisville's early- to mid-'90s scene, Endpoint embodies the sound of the time, bringing together melodic punk, Sick of It All hard-fast, and metal. "Now I'm older/I realize that the key I hold myself," a line from the song "Remember," sums up the feel of Catharsis quite well; positive, D.I.Y., and contemplative.
