[Edit]Family Force 5’s recent plunge into electronic and dubstep territory continues on Reanimated, a remix album with three new tunes. From the start, this exuberant Atlanta-based Christian combo has served up wild party anthems while keeping its lyrics positive and sleaze-free. The group’s latest release finds it injecting a little more urban influence into its previously released tracks with the help of assorted producers and guest performers. The fresh cuts “Chainsaw” and “Phenomenon” conjure up crunk rock magic at its most potent, blasting forth with throbbing beats and empowering messages. Even more raucous is “Next Level,” a relentless jam featuring British rapper LZ7 alongside FF5 frontman Solomon “Soul Glow Activatur” Olds. Among the remixes, “Wobble” gets an old-school funk makeover, “Zombie” dips its toes into dubstep, “Can You Feel It” crackles with lowdown energy, and “Love Addict” veers back toward FF5’s earlier more organic sound. Of special note is “Superhero (Nico Stadi Remix),” a hypnotic glide into dance floor heaven that’s both inspiring and slightly scary.
