Feels Like the First Time (Deluxe Edition)

This is an unusual collection. As opposed to the standard greatest hits package such as No End In Sight: The Very Best of Foreigner, Feels Like the First Time is an ambitious collection that features Acoustique: The Classics Unplugged, Juke Box Heroes: Brand New Digital Recordings of Foreigner’s Greatest Hits and a live video concert album Live In Chicago. Singer Kelly Hansen does the impossible by filling original singer Lou Gramm’s shoes, while original guitarist Mick Jones ensures that the entire collection is uniformly solid. To be clear, these are not the original hit versions. But they are powerful modern recreations with all the advantages of the modern studio being put to use. The acoustic set includes a few surprises, including a take on the Elvis Presley hit “That’s All Right” and a previously unreleased tune in “The Flame Still Burns.” The electric collection includes the brand new “Save Me,” which was co-written by Mick Jones’ stepdaughter Samantha Ronson. The concert video is of impressive quality and features many of the songs that made the band a formidable unit back in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.
