Details
[Edit]Like so many of the Motown groups, the Four Tops were a singles act, but, wow, what great singles! We know it had something to do with getting top-rate songs from Holland-Dozier-Holland, their writing team. But it also had a lot to do with heartfelt performances, led by the magnificent Levi Stubbs on lead vocals. Their second album captures all that was sublime about these hit-makers, with tunes like the euphoric "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and the knowing "It's the Same Old Song." Motown may have had better-known acts, but few were as consistently successful. Other key tracks: "Something About You," "Helpless"
