[Edit]Pianist Frank Collett has led surprisingly few sessions throughout his career, so this obscurity is worth searching for. Collett is teamed with bassist Monty Budwig, drummer Santo Savino, and (on three of the ten selections) guitarist Jon Pall. Other than "Nicholas Necklace" from producer Fernando Gelbard, all of the compositions are by Collett, giving listeners a rare opportunity to hear his tunes. Collett, a Los Angeles-based bop pianist, is in fine form throughout this well-paced set.
