The Best of Teen Idols is a bit of a misleading title. The collection does feature the standard hits by '50s/early-'60s teen idols Pat Boone ("April Love"), Tab Hunter ("Young Love"), Tommy Roe ("Dizzy") and Brian Hyland ("Sealed with a Kiss"), but it also has cuts by Buddy Holly ("Think It Over"), Bill Haley ("Shake, Rattle and Roll") and Danny & the Juniors ("At the Hop"), who are of the same era, but are not teen idols. Even if it fails to live up to its billing, it's an entertaining collection that evokes the feeling of the era.
