[Edit]A double CD of electro-acoustic music by one of the most celebrated named in Italian jazz and avant-garde music, this album is re-pressing of a 1986 piece entitled "TETAKKON," which is by no coincidence an anagram of the legendary "Kontakta" piece by electronic pioneer Karlheinz Stockhausen. Evidently that electronic and percussion work inspired the Liguori composition. The double-CD set contains a new, revised version from 2001, and features Paul Rutherford on trombone, Tony Rusconi on percussion, Davide Tedesco's contrabass, Davide Santi on violin, and the composer on piano. "Tetakkon" 1986, the earlier version of the same piece, demonstrates a world of change in the composer's approach when put next to the revision of 15 years later, making it an inspired double-CD set. The later version is performed by Gaetano Liguori again leading on piano, Roberto Manes on violin, Davide Zaccaria on cello, Enzo Lo Greco on contrabass, and Pasquale Liguori on drums. The variation between the two versions of the piece is astounding. This holds much appeal to fans of electro-acoustic music, free improvisation, and jazz.
