Details
[Edit]While the late Garnett Silk might not have had the time to completely fulfill his vast potential as a reggae superstar, he has certainly left listeners with a beautiful impression of conscious dancehall music. On Nothing Can Divide Us, he teams up with producer Courtney Cole to create an album that is wholly positive in nature. Love themes found in songs such as "Ready to Love You" and "Attractiveness" are matched with prayerful affirmations in songs such as "King Moses" and "Give Us Strength." With Silk's singing voice serving as a cipher for Rastafarian purity, even cheesy covers of "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash and "Just Once" by Quincy Jones possess the ability to convert even the most cynical of listeners.
