When Gary Moore died of a heart attack in his sleep in February 2011, it robbed the guitar world of one of its finest practitioners. Due to his love for both rock ’n’ roll and the blues, Moore settled into being a musician’s musician and worried not about hit singles and chasing trends. This album features a show recorded at London’s Bush Hall on May 17, 2007, that was originally broadcast by Planet Rock radio. This is the first time the complete show is being made available since the broadcast. At the time, Moore was promoting his latest album, Close As You Get, his next to last. The concert features seven tracks from it, many of which he rarely played live after this tour. Such great material as the slow blues “Trouble at Home” and the equally intense “I Had a Dream” comes more to life when played before an appreciative live audience. Chuck Berry’s “Thirty Days” gives Moore a chance to strut his stuff, while the acoustic slide blues of Son House’s “Sundown” lets Moore go back to his deepest roots.
