Geiger's name popped up a few times throughout 2003 and 2004, with remixes for Stella, Heiko Voss, and Dorau/Köhncke, as well as a co-production with Thomas Schaeben on the excellent "Really Real," released on Firm's Tombo 12." This is the first in a pair of simultaneously released solo EPs for Firm, both of which carry the label's "anything goes" approach to disco-pop and left-field house. None of the five tracks are dismissible, but lead track "Hospital Room" is the standout, gathering steam throughout, featuring one of vocalist Schad Privat's surreal narratives; "Later I break my collarbone/And I'm stationed in a hospital room" is hardly the type of couplet you're used to hearing on a dancefloor. Dig the odd family portrait on the cover, a spooky black-and-white depicting a mother, her two tots, and their wee pup.
