Details
[Edit]Gerald Jay Markoe's Celestial Music for Yoga offers nine soft, classically inspired compositions ideal for yoga, as the title suggests, or other relaxing activities such as meditation or reading. The pieces — all of which are untitled — range from the "Canon in D"-inspired first track to the Eastern-inspired third composition, which deftly mixes harps and shakuhachi flutes into the dreamy arrangements that dominate the album. Most of the album offers variations set forth on the first track, although a slightly darker, Middle Eastern influence winds its way through track six and the closing composition. Relaxing yet eclectic, Celestial Music for Yoga is a worthwhile collection both for yoga devotees and fans of restful but not boring music.
