Stacey Dean has been hailed as "one of America's top ten metaphysicians" by New Age Digest and is the Director of the Academy of Metaphysical Arts in Las Vegas. On this tape, Dean enthusiastically leads the listener on an inner voyage to be aware of — and use — the chakra energy system in the body by describing a ball of white light. She alternates between mini-lectures, instructions about breathing, and declarations of the desired result of energizing the chakra (ie, "I am loved, loving, and beloved").

The sound quality could be improved (I heard trucks in the background during the quiet moments), and her voice is, perhaps, too echoed for some ears (but if you are game to be led on a guided mediation of the chakras, this might be just the right ambiance). Gerald Jay Markoe's synthesizer music does match Dean's dramatic narration, and the music actually helps the listener breathe, move the ball of light, and charge it with energy. His music moves and almost prickles like the energy of the chakras. Do not expect a particularly "relaxing" mediation experience; Dean whips up the energy, which is the whole point.
