[Edit]Geraldo Azevedo is one of the current proponents of Northeastern music (xote, forró, and baião) in a pop dressing. Mixing Caribbean grooves with Sivuca's internationally awarded pure Northeastern accordion, poppish sax fills, and the competent Carioca choro accompaniment of the specialized regional "Nó Em Pingo d'Agua," Geraldo achieves a defined inclusive, cosmopolitan configuration for his regional sound and strong compositions in an album full of musical competence and emotional expressiveness.
