Mexican singer/songwriter Germán Román introduces his new group, called Banda República, with this 12-track record, which starts with the hit single "La Niña Quiere Cerveza" and features a cover of Nelson Ned's "Yo La Voy a Matar and a new version of "Que Será," popularized in the early '70s by the bilingual José Feliciano. The romantic ballads "Ya Te Extraño" and "Para Siempre, Como Siempre," the Cumbia-inflected "Viva Mazatlán," and the up-tempo "Un Día de Rodeo" are among the best songs in La Voz del Mexicano.
