[Edit]Former London Quireboys vocalist Guy Griffin resurfaces with Glimmer, which submerges his grittier Stones/Faces influences in favor of a stomping, glammed-up power pop/hard rock hybrid on the band's debut album, Silver Zone. But even though the style is essentially retro, the group's sensibility definitely belongs in the late '90s, not falling prey to the trappings of mere revivalism. There are a few duff tracks where the melodies don't quite catch hold, but for the most part, Silver Zone is a promising debut.
