Details
[Edit]Jimmy Buffett's ace harmonica man blows and sings with major authority on this 16-track outing. Musically, Taylor casts a very wide net for a harp blower, with tastes that careen all over the road from Mickey Jupp's "Old Rock & Roller" in the title track to hardcore blues on "Drop Down Mama" and "Crackhead Baby" to the jump of his own "Subway Swing" and beyond. Taylor's command of his instrument is a wonder to behold, never overplaying while his choice of notes is impeccable. Other notable moments on tap are Taylor's duet with Miranda Louise on a clever back and forth medley of two Slim Harpo tunes, an over the top rendition of Jerry McCain's "Geronimo Rock" and a totally in-the-pocket take on two old chestnuts, "St. Louis Blues" and "Sentimental Journey." Great harmonica with roots that go deep.
