[Edit]This highly enjoyable solo piano CD features Guido Nielsen performing the dozen rags that Joseph Lamb (one of the big three of classic ragtime, along with Scott Joplin and James Scott) had published by John S. Stark, virtually his entire work except for his pieces in much later years, dating from 1908-1919. Nielsen interprets the rags with sensitivity and a steady rhythm. Lamb's compositions (which include "Sensation," "Ethiopia," "American Beauty," and "Nightingale") are full of warm melodies and subtle surprises, so this is music well worth hearing many times.
