[Edit]Boasting the tagline "Detroit's Heavy Metal Horror Show" on the cover, this 1985 debut from Detroit headbangers Halloween presented the band's somewhat ham-fisted early focus on horror-themed theatrical metal. Equal parts unintentionally comical (the groundbreakingly dumb title track, "Trick or Treat") and confusing ("What a Nice Place"), and blazing with technical performances throughout, Don't Metal with Evil holds a young excitement and energy Halloween would never quite return to, though they ultimately progressed on to be a better band.
