Details
[Edit]Hamilton de Holanda stands out from the teeming and talented pool of Brazilian musician out there–not only because he plays choros with a 10-stringed mandolin but for his remarkable virtuosity. Here, he (and a few guests) created 24 short musical themes that range from the shimmering “Moon Caprice” to the dancing “Venezuelan Caprice” to the technically dazzling finale “Last Caprice.” A particular joy, however, is the earthy and playful “Sky Caprice,” where he’s joined by Gabriel Grossi on harmonica. Originally conceived as a creative exercise, this concept has truly blossomed into something special.
