Two different versions of the Harry James' Orchestra are heard on this collector's LP. The 1949 band has five vocals (including Willie Smith's feature on "Who's Sorry Now") and just two instrumentals ("Cottontail" and "Caravan"). The 1954 orchestra splits their eight songs evenly among vocals (including three by Peggy King and "Blues in the Night" by drummer Buddy Rich) and four hotter numbers (highlighted by "Perdido" and "Sleepy Time Gal"). Fine music but this set will be difficult to find.
