[Edit]Tricoche's third solo effort benefits because of the title tune (purportedly based on a personal mishap); the rest is mostly mainstream, trend-oriented ingredients. The TH-Rodven sound machine (arrangers and session musicians stick to the formula that was worked to great success for the label) is professionally competent, although it sounds somewhat routine. Tricoche is a superior performer, combining his great sense of melody and improvisational skills. Because the material (except the title) brings no new element to his discography, his fans might be disconcerted by not receiving exactly what this album promises.
