[Edit]A superior swing pianist from Switzerland, Henri Chaix is influenced by Teddy Wilson but has his own style within the swing tradition. On this live trio date with bassist Alain DuBois and drummer Romano Cavicchiolo, Chaix revives such standards as "This Can't Be Love," "Undecided," "Crazy Rhythm," and "Liza" with spirit, enthusiasm, and melodic invention. The music is played with creativity yet melodically, making this an easily recommended session for swing fans.
