Just because that Fat Wreck Chords sound of slaphappy, galloping pop-punk has been overdone doesn't mean that it gets stale; it all just depends on how a band can make this genre fun again. Take Hi-Standard for example, sure they epitomize the Fat stereotype — except for the whole being from Japan part — but it's just so hard not to crank Growing Up. It's just fun, for lack of a better term; like one would want to hang out with these guys at a party or after a show. Should it be mentioned that they do a punked out version of Bay City Rollers' "Saturday Night?" Blows the Ned's Atomic Dustbin version out of the water.
