[Edit]Flutist Holly Hofmann's second Capri recording uses the same musicians as her debut: pianist Mike Wofford, bassist Bob Magnusson and drummer Sherman Ferguson. Hofmann, a superior bop-based improviser, performs a wide range of jazz standards and obscurities, including pieces by Ellington and Strayhorn ("Mount Harissa"), Art Pepper ("True Blues"), Djavan, Neal Hefti, Bud Powell, and Thelonious Monk (Green Chimneys") plus an original apiece by Wofford (the title cut) and Magnusson. The inventive arrangements and high-quality solos make this an excellent CD worth searching for.
