He turns “Six Cold Feet” into a smoldering dirge where slide guitars waltz with saucy saxophone solos. Dr. John’s unmistakable drawl accompanies Laurie’s piano on “After You’ve Gone”; this version is trimmed with tasteful clarinet parts.
