I Can Lick Any Son of a Bitch in the House is the brainchild of Mike Damron, a bluesy singer/songwriter who writes and performs everything himself. He owns an affected, forceful voice that has a gritty edge à la Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat (and no, that isn't an insult). Mixing slightly psychedelic production with a soulful sound, the songs here are an inspired combination of electric anthems and acoustic laments. Sometimes a bit too polished for his own good, Damron can be guilty of relying too much on studio tricks. But when he lets it all hang out, his music can be a passionate maelstrom of blues-rock. Although nowhere near perfect, Creepy Little Noises is a strong debut that displays a lot of promise and enthusiasm.
